Archaeological Museum

The state department of Archaeology after taking over as a monument has spent lakhs of rupees and removated the pillars of the palace. In the Natakasala an archaeological museum has been set up by the department. Stone sculptures collected from the various parts of the Pandya country formed part of the museum. Sculptures from 9 to 16 C.A.D. of various sects, religions, were arranged neatly. Pre historic antiquities like stone age tools, megalithic potteries, burial urns, iron objects are also to be worth mentioned in the museum. Some replica of paintings of chola, pallava, vijaya nagara period also can be seen here.

A permanent special exhibition depicting various features of the history of Thirumalai Naick is arranged with photographs. Sculptures of Thirumalai Naick, his wives, his contribution to temple architecture and temple jewellary are all explained in the form of photographs.
